Ventoniemi is HJK’s new transportation partner. From now on, Ventoniemi will transport the Club’s first team and academy teams as they travel to away matches in pursuit of three points.
Last Saturday, the men’s first team stepped aboard a Ventoniemi bus for the first time. This time the journey was still short, as the bus took the team to Eteläsatama, from where the trip continued on a Tallink Silja Line ferry to Sweden for an away match against Hammarby IF.
However, Ventoniemi’s comfortable seats will soon become very familiar when the Veikkausliiga season truly gets underway in April. Traveling is a big part of the team’s everyday life week after week, and it’s important that the conditions for the journey are first-class.
“During the year, the team spends dozens of hours on the bus. At that point, the bus is no longer just a means of transport – it becomes a second home for the team. That’s why it’s important that the team is comfortable on the road. During the busy match schedule, especially when playing in Europe, it’s essential that the coaching staff can work on the bus and make efficient use of the travel time. For the players, it’s important that there is space to rest and relax,” comments HJK team manager Ville Wallén.

Like HJK Helsinki, Ventoniemi Oy also has a long and distinguished history. In 1928, Väinö Ventoniemi purchased his first car and began operating as a professional taxi driver. For more than 90 years, Ventoniemi has taken passengers both near and far.
“HJK is a traditional club whose operations are first-class both on and off the field. I believe we share many common values, and both organizations have a great spirit of dedication and professionalism. It’s great to become part of HJK’s story,” comments Ventoniemi’s CEO, Ville Ventoniemi.
